Fire Starter Festival 2018: Data – the final frontier

The Fire Starter Festival [1] is a two-week festival of collaborative learning events, illuminating creative, disruptive and innovative ways in which we can all transform ourselves, our organisations and the wider system. On 1 February 2018, National Records of Scotland gave a presentation as part of a free event called ‘Data - The Final Frontier’, which discussed how we use data to support the public sector in Scotland for the benefit of its citizens

  • National Records of Scotland talked about how Scotland’s population is changing and what the implications of this are.
  • NHS Information Services Division talked about how they are transforming the way they making health and social care data available.
  • The Scottish Government talked about its open data portal, statistics.gov.scot, which allows you to investigate, visualise, and download data from a range of official statistics producers.
