The registrar will give you:
- an abbreviated birth certificate
- a National Health Service in Scotland Healthcare for your Baby (Form EC58). You need this to register the child with the NHS
You’ll have the opportunity to purchase a full birth certificate for your child.
You can get this document:
- immediately, if you’re in the registration office
- by post, if you’re registering remotely
