Introductory Family History Talks

These talks are aimed at people who are new to family history.  They are held in General Register House from 13:00 to 16:15 and the format is as follows:

  • a talk about the ScotlandsPeople Centre and our records
  • a 90 minute session on the computer search system in the splendour of the Adam Dome with our Family History Officers on hand to provide help and advice
  • a talk in the Lord Clerk Register's Room about some of the records that are available in the Historical Search Room.
  • a chance to browse in the shop for family history books and products.

There is a small fee of £7.00 per person to cover refreshments.
