9:15am to 4:30pm
Victoria Quay, Edinburgh
Conference Room 1

The National Records of Scotland (NRS) is keen to ensure that the statistics it produces are relevant and meet users needs. This event provided an opportunity for users and providers of statistics to get together and discuss potential improvements.

This meeting brought together a range of speakers to present the latest developments, and to gather views to shape the priorities of the demography division of NRS.

Among the topics covered were:

  • Trends and projections in mortality;
  • Changes in registration practices;
  • Analyses within local authorities;
  • Development and opportunities in data matching and use of administration sources; and
  • Revised indicators of multiple deprivation.
