Civil Partnership Fees In Scotland – What Would You Pay?

Statutory fees for civil partnerships

With effect from 1 May 2022, the fees set by the Registrar General by Act of Parliament are as follows:

  • Civil Partnership Notice – per person submitting a notice of civil partnership to the district registrar    £45
  • A civil partnership registration at the statutory fee allows for both parties to the registration and their two witnesses to attend, as required by the law.    £55
  • Civil Partnership certificate purchased within one month of your marriage registration    £10
  • Civil Partnership certificate purchased more than one after the marriage registration    £15

Payment should be made to your registration office who will advise you of the payment methods.

  • Civil Partnership Notice – Party One    £45
  • Civil Partnership Notice – Party Two    £45
  • Statutory civil partnership fee    £55
  • Civil Partnership Certificate    £10
  • Total    £155

Additional fees for civil partnership

Local authorities may charge additional fees to cover extra costs. For example,

•    Accommodating additional guests and use of rooms
•    Attendance of an authorised registrar at places other than their registration offices.

  • First civil partnership Certificate    £10

Please ask the religious or belief celebrant who is to register your civil partnership about the fees they charge.
