Private Walker's will is the smallest will that NRS holds. It is written on the back of this tiny photograph,  measuring a mere 42 x 63 mm. Private Walker wrote his will on 3 May 1918, just a few weeks before he was killed in action in France on 28 June 1918. It reads "I. Thos. Walker do hereby leave all my personal belongings to Mrs [S?] Brown, 81 Queen St. Dumfries, Scotland. Signed Pte. T. Walker. 202253 2nd K.O.S.B. B.E.7 3rd May 1918". Other examples of soldiers’ wills are featured on ScotlandsPeople website where the records can also be searched.
