This section provides household and dwelling estimates for the 73 Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies (SPCs). The constituency boundaries and names correspond to those defined for the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections.
Parliamentary constituency boundaries may change from one election to the next. A constituency in the 2021 elections may have a different boundary from one with the same name in earlier elections. These estimates show how the households and dwellings in 2021 SPC have changed over time.
Household and dwelling estimates for SPCs are based on data zone household and dwelling estimates where each data zone has been assigned to a particular SPC on a ‘best-fit’ basis. Where a data zone crosses the boundary of two (or more) SPCs it was assigned to the constituency containing the location of the population-weighted centroid of the data zone.

The figures are based on adding up data zone household and dwelling estimates from the Small Area Statistics on Households and Dwellings. More information can be found in the Methodology Guide of the latest Household and Dwellings publication.

This section provides estimates of the number and percentage of dwellings which are occupied, vacant, unoccupied exemptions, long-term empty, second homes, occupied and exempt from paying council tax, or that are receiving a ‘single adult’ Council Tax discount for the 73 Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies (SPCs) in Scotland.
The estimates are available for each year from 2014 onwards.

This section provides estimates of the number and characteristics of dwellings for the 73 Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies (SPCs) in Scotland. Information is given on Council Tax Band, type of dwelling, number of rooms per dwelling and number of dwellings per hectare.
The estimates are available for each year from 2005 onwards.
(Data for 2018 to 2022 on type of dwelling and number of rooms are not yet available for publication.)
