Correction - 14 October 2022
An error was found in the electoral ward population estimates for the year 2021. This affected the age distribution of the population. There was no impact on the total population estimates of wards in 2021. Corrections have been made to the "2021" sheet in the data tables.

This section provides annual mid-year population estimates for the 355 electoral wards in Scotland. The population estimates are available for each year from 2001 onwards for 2011 Data Zones, broken down by sex and single year of age.

Populations for electoral wards are based on data zone population estimates where each data zone has been assigned to a particular electoral ward. These estimates were produced using the 2022 Electoral Ward boundaries.
